Mediated Choreography & Exhibition

Chance, desire and Wonder

"Chance, Desire, Wonder", a collaborative work with choreographer Jasmine Canziani, based in the U.S., in 2024.In January 2024, we began exploring and questioning mediation, pondering how we can simply capture the concept of possibility in life. It's often said that everyone has their own journey. What if we challenge this notion and express life's chances through media? We encounter people, buses, weather, and food under unpredictable conditions. This small experiment questions how much our daily lives are dominated by luck, chance, or desire—in other words, the power of manifestation. We are exploring in a casual, relaxed, and playful manner, examining daily routines through transport and walking, allowing the space to flow through us. We do not know the location or goal, but we follow curiosity or perhaps desire in the process.

Embodied “Being-in-Place” through mediated choreographic practice: AI generator - the third partner

The project investigates individuals' relationships with spaces, using chance as a choreographic catalyst for interaction in time, space, and direction. Participants followed a sequence of ten instructions, each designed to guide them randomly and encourage engagement with their surroundings. This exploration of wonder, desire, and chance employed various tools such as playing cards, dice, spinners, and AI generators, resulting in six unique routines mapped on a virtual platform through an app. The project invites audiences to embark on their own journeys of exploration, reflecting the experiences encountered by the performers.

Phase 2:

We designed an exhibition space for participants centered around the concept of chance, exploring how they perceive and what they observe through an unpredictable sequence along various pathways within the space.
